I installed a butterfly for my desktop a while back then i deinstalled it because they said it was spyware but then they said it still might be on my computer.

Please help thanks!

I’m guessing a theme of some type in an executable install? I’ve seen them and wouldn’t touch one. Possibly just data mining, not malicious. Who knows.

Do you remember where you got it from, do you still have the link?

If it's something like @Edwin demonstrated, and not only the program itself but Defender gave me a warning, I'd stay far away from it. Since you've already done it:

1. Run a full scan using Defender as well as any other AV protection you might use.

2. Run Malwarebyte as @FreeBooter suggested.
Malwarebytes Premium will run in realtine free for 14 days when it will automatically revert to the free version. It will give you popups trying to sell it to you. Just ignore them.

If after all this, you observe anything abnormal, the only way to 100% know you have no malware is to do a clean install or restore an image made before you installed your butterflies.

I really don't like using a possibly infected machine to "repair itself". It's like as a private pilot being told please fly this plane -- it's got a problem but you can fix it while it's in the air !!! -- No thanks I'd rather fix it while it's on the ground.

@glasskuter is right --re-install from scratch or use a clean recent backup image.

restore a clean backup or re-install windows from scratch again having first "wiped" the disk with the infected partition. This saves a lot of potential grief later even if it's more of a hassle.

According to VirusTotal it's benign. It's easy to stop it loading with windows, just uncheck the box "load at startup"!
It's easy to remove with Revo Uninstaller.
