My Dell Inspiron 13 7373 2-in-1 has a touch screen, which is what I use most of the time - it works well. If I need to select several files, I use the trackpad, but it is always clumsy. The built in keyboard is surprisingly good, and I can touch-type on it at speed. The poll is not therefore terribly relevant for me. This laptop is supposedly not compatible with Windows 11, however, I'm using W11 and it's fine. The only incompatible issue I have found is that using the laptop as a tablet by folding the screen back, doesn't switch to tablet mode, which I assume is the limitation built into W11. I always use the device as a laptop anyway.

Logitech K800 because it's wireless (not Bluetooth, as Bluetooth is not secure), illuminated, and I can easily grab it and hold it without accidentally hitting the keys. I use the keyboard on my lap whereas the laptop is against the opposite wall behind the TV. I move the keyboard around a lot. The wrist support is compulsory and the wrist support being unremovable/built-in so that I can grab/hold the keyboard by grabbing/holding the wrist support is compulsory.

The G402 Hyperion Fury is on a side table and plugged into a USB extension cable. I don't play games anymore, but the shape and size of this mouse is 150 percent perfect, and, it also slides well. 😂 Just like the old MX518 that I used to have (almost 16 years ago, when I was still an FPS addict and everyone assumed I was a cheater).

For Windows 11 MS have dropped tablet mode. Instead Windows is supposed to adapt itself to be more 'tablet friendly' when used as a tablet. This is an on-going design process, with a a taskbar that adapts when you detach the keyboard being tested in the Insider builds at present.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

I'm equally at home on my trackpad or with my Logi MX Master 3 Mouse.
It helps a lot to be a fully ambidextrous classical pianist. :cool:

Another thing I like about Unifying Receivers is you can connect up to 6 compatible devices with just a single Unifying Receiver dongle. So that I can use all four hands for programming my Windows 11. 💻🐒

I think my VivoBook trackpad has more multi-finger gestures than a touch screen!
Frustrating! My trackpad usually gets a finger gesture from me!!! :p

I've now had my Dell XPS 15 laptop since February. It's my main computer. (Click on "My Computer" below.) I came back to this thread because something very interesting has happened. My Logitech MX Master 3 mouse sits lonely and unused! I've fully adapted to and gone entirely over to my touchpad. I never have the desire or need to reach for the external mouse anymore.

I think this has a lot to do with the oversize Dell touchpad. It has a smooth glass surface and has become second nature and a pure joy to use. I use just a light tap for a left click and a light two-finger tap for right click and scrolling. I never press hard to get the built-in "click". It just works so smoothly! I like that everything I use is now entirely self-contained. I never have to pick up a mouse with my computer when I move to different areas of the house or go out on the screened in porch to work in the evening.

This old dog's muscle memory has been entirely retrained! I love it!

It didn't happen quickly! I went back and forth between my MX Master 3 and my touchpad for several months. There's definitely a learned touchpad technique.

Touchpads are getting a lot larger these days, especially the ones with no visible buttons. The mechanical buttons are still there, but hidden under the bottom left/right of the pad. You still feel a click if you press there, but the part of the touchpad above them is now available to be used for touch as well, making for a larger usable area without needing extra space for the buttons.

And the move to precision touchpads helps too. Two-finger tap for a right-click, three for Start, four for the Action centre, for example.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

Flicking up or down on the touchpad with two fingers duplicates the spinning speed wheel of the MX. And for me it's quicker because the touchpad is right under my fingers, and I don't have to reach for and find a mouse.

Me too. I'm getting quite adept at judging quite how hard a flick is needed to scroll from the bottom of this page to the top, or just to scroll half way through with a lighter flick.
