Do you keep OEM Disk Management software installed?

No use. Wasted space. btw I have PrimoCache disk caching software that works at the block level and can persist across boots. Much better than any caching software from the SSD vendors. Only takes 10 MB of disk space for the software (more for the persistent block cache indexing).
Is PrimoCache similar to Momentum Cache or Samsung RAPID?

If so, why should the software remain installed and keep running 24x7? The onboard micro-controller in the SSD is a computer in itself and should be configurable, isn't it? Which means it should be able to work independently based on the configurations set by these programs?

No. I believe momentum is a small memory cache to Crucial drives to make up for lack of DRAm n the SSD. Rapid is at the file level disk cache. Primocache cache low level disk blocks and is very low latency and fast, can be persisted across boots, and also can do write-back caching for writes. It is very flexible an configurable. I have enough memory that I can persistently cache all programs I ever use. I had to take some measures to prevent the cache from being flushed by certain operations (backups, periodivc virus scans, etc) that took some effort as Microsoft automates scans

I have it optimized for reads:

I believe momentum to be a stab at the Standard nvme Host Memory Buffer (HMB). This is a smallish RAM buffer on the host in front of writes that is meant to act as a replacement for on-board SSD RAM for SSD without DRAM like the Samsung 980. But the HMB is a standard, momentum is not I believe.

Alternatively :p

It's never a good idea to allow apps to communicate with the outside world over public wifi networks that you have no control over. but this may open your system to attack from malware that (in this case), uses Java

You can override this if you wish in the firewall rules, if you need to for a specific purpose, and you trust the connection, but should add other defenses to your system ,

Go to Option 5 and scan the list. If you have it, it came with your installation of Windows. If you don't have it, don't worry about it.

Many of the basic installs are listed in Settings > Apps > Apps and Features. If they have an Uninstall option under the three dots, you can ditch them easily. If they don't offer that option, you can try the tutorial's guide, Option 5. It's not hard.

Thanks -- Appreciate it. So, everything on the list that doesn't have a prefix was something else installed from the vendor. Either a driver or another application all together.

Hi,
Seems mixed
I read someone stating tictok/ instagram and some other crapware I doubt ms is preinstalling.

Upgrades sure didn't add that nonsense lol
But yeah you can paste both these in power shell for a list to your desktop what is installed

Code:
Terminal apps list
Get-AppxPackage | Select Name, PackageFullName >"$env:userprofile\Desktop\Apps_List.txt"
Provisional
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -PackageTypeFilter Bundle | Select-Object Name, PackageFullName >"$env:userprofile\Desktop\Provisioned_Apps_List.txt"
Thanks for the Tip. I had to modify the output file, I assume when you use OneDrive the desktop in my case was actually in there so I changed the path from Desktop to Documents, if not the command was erroring out.

I've been using PrimoCache since it was called FancyCache. Great software. I only use the L1 write function. I like it because it consolidates the writes to the disk and discards duplicate data when used with write delay. It typically discards about 35% of the duplicated data during a days worth of use. Can't beat this little program.
New version coming out this month!
