Windows 11 Pro Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.7309)
Is creating a Windows Restore Point in Windows 10 before upgrading to Windows 11 enough?

I do keep a external backup hard drive recording my important data just in case a internal hard drive goes bad or I accidentally delete a file.

No.,.. while that's nice I would perform a full backup with a tool like this: Reflect Free Edition

No point as you wouldn't have a system restore point once you upgraded. You would have a Windows.old folder for 10 days that you could roll back.

If it installs successfully. People report being stuck in a loop or BSOD. A real backup is preferable.

Good points from the guys. Macrium reflect, brilliant and you can use the rollback to windows 10 from System> Windows Update>Recovery. It gives you 10 days but you can increase that with DISM

It does but Ghot has step 7 Next circled in red, not Finish. Next couldn't be selected. Yes, Finish worked. Ghot has always been very helpful & much appreciated!

I meant no offence Ghot. You've helped me before & I have always appreciated your suggestions. I wasn't sure if I had missed a step but it all worked & now on to Windows 11 (I hope!)

I'm too old for "new" things like Steps Recorder.
5 or so years ago, I would have been all over stuff like that. But now I seem to be settling into a nice "familiar" rut.

I'm so familiar with Paintshop Pro 7.04, I really don't have to look to find things in that program. :)




I mean, just try and do something like this with Steps Recorder....

Yeah you'd have to upload the videos to onedrive or similar like youtube and post them where ever.

All you need is a gun and ammo lol
