Drive Copy Issues

I got a new nvme drive (1TB) and I wanted to copy all data from my sata drive (120 GBs)in order to use the nvme to boot windows since i'm not able to update applications due to there not being enough space on the sata drive. I had used MInitool Partition WIzard and Macrium on 2 seperate occasions of the copying because on the first one the data was copied but it wouldn't boot. I made sure that the UEFI setting were correct in Bios and that the nvme drive was the first priority in the booting but it wouldn't boot from the nvme. I removed the sata drive in order to force the boot from the nvme and I encountered some errors.

I encountered "error code: 0xc000000e" and "file \BCD, error code: 0xc0000098" and a "file: \windows\system32\winload.efi, error code: 0xc000000e"

I don't know how to fix this and now i'm trying to wipe the nvme drive but while wiping it I encountered a error saying that my nvme drive (E:) is being used but I don't know if it's from having the os installed or is it because somehow it's actually being used.

I just cloned a 1 TB NVME with a Windows 11 OS onto a new 2TB NVME which was in a Sabrent NVME enclosure attached with a standard USB-C to standard USB cable (a cell phone charger cable), using Macrium Reflect Free - Not For Commercial Use (version 8.0.7783) [UEFI] and it went flawlessly.

I HIGHLY recommend using this method as it was effortless and flawless.

I tried to do that but when I opened Macrium it shows that my nvme drive already has some windows icons on it. If I do that would it then start to completely boot off of my sata drive or would it mess up the boot completely?

I suggest following the video implicitly. If your earlier clone didn't work, you can re-try it.
If it were me, I'd delete the partitions on the new NVMe and re-do everything.
I'd re-clone the original onto the new NVMe again.

Sometimes if a cable gets bumped etc it can affect things and you might get an error.

It's happened at some time or another to all of us.

P.S. Don't be afraid to give yourself more space on that Windows partition. It looks like it could use a little more drive space allocated to that partition.

Not having enough room can cause problems as well.

I ended up removing my sata and hard drives in order to do a fresh install of windows onto the nvme. In the windows boot when installing i deleted all the partitions before installing (which is an important key) and installed it. I wasn't able to reuse the windows activation key since it's already been activated some other time ( i don't know when or how) but that was the only downside but i didn't mind having to redownload everything.

Ouch. Well I hope all worked out for you. I just cloned another drive today using posted method for a buddy of mine who upgraded his SATA drive.

Check the RAID switch in the BIOS and make sure the hard drive mode is the same (e.g. all AHCI), otherwise you will have to reinstall the system. Some brands of computers will turn on RAID mode by default to improve the performance of the SSD (such as Dell)
