Odd situation. A drive letter shows in File Explorer, but clicking on it results in a popup saying the drive is unavailable. The drive letter had been in use by VeraCrypt but VeraCrypt says it no longer has the drive mounted, the registry does not show it in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices, and Disk management does not show it. Hiow do I free this drive letter? I know it will free up with a reboot, but I've got 3 hours left in a 5 hour copy and I'd rather not interrupt it.

If you are not attaching another drive that needs that particular letter right now I'd wait until a more convenient time, maybe when checking for updates, latest is 21H2 build 22000.978.

While not critical, I'd like to do the VeraCrypt mount again. I could obviously use a different drive letter but I've got some scripts that the "VeraCrypt Container" is mounted on M:.

BTW, I checked subst and net use. Neither claims the drive as one of theirs, but that fits with the drive not being in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices list.

Seems to me the copying process mentioned is more important unless desiring not to wait and cause having to do it over.
