I was tempted to buy a Chromebook, but they are only supported for a few years, What happends when that support runs out? Widows hardware is often useable for far longer.

Their support period is usually pretty long in my experience.

Why bother. Surely you aren't that pressed for Disk space these days, Those things don't do any damage and in fact can often be useful if a Windows / or other newer driver(s) update(s) causes hardware to fail. I had experience with the LAN NIC and a wireless NIC (2 drivers one wifi, one LAN) driver update via Windows update when updating to 24H2 failing and giving me "Cannot connect to internet/this server ---- uninstalling current drivers and restoring old drivers fixed it for both NIC's.
