Edge crashed hard, cntrl-shift-T wont reopen the closed tabs

Edge started not responding and it closed itself down
Reopen to a single new page. I still see tabs in history but no recent closed tabs.

The above site is now working fine.

Well, not going to change this PC's hardware, it could have more memory added. I can just close tabs, but not certain would have made a difference. I do have a decent SSD on it.

Out of curiosity to the way you use your browser, It appears some of your tabs are for more transient type sites. Do you use tabs rather than bookmarks? Do you open every site in a new tab and then leave it open when you are through with the site.?

You'll probably need to look at restoring a backup session in order to recover that.

And after that, you might want to start looking at the built-in collections feature in Edge. Store your links grouped into collections, which get sync'd more like bookmarks do, and seems to be more resilient to being restored even if a session crashes.

I found that bookmarks to be useless as I created so many of them and never then used them. Mostly keeping tabs open as I dont usually close tabs, they do pile up. I will close tabs when so many are open that they run off the edge to the right. What I found more useful for saving sites is to use my email and save drafts. That way I have access for ever on any pc. Tabs do sleep, which makes me think they don't use resources that make a difference. Edge crashing on me is rare.

Browser essentials for current tabs open shows a fair amount of consumed memory. Maybe add in more memory. Surprised this much memory is consumed with such few tabs open. Turned on efficiency mode this am, but reading some on it talks a lot about battery and this is a desktop.
I have another 8gb not used in my other PC

Edge has a couple of features built in that really make it a lot better both on your resources as well as restorability.

Take a good hard look at groups - group tabs allows you to easily open or close groups, which still will make use of your tab sleep functions, even when grouped.

Take a closer look at collections - shared across accounts, for one thing, and works with groups and individual sites.
