My wife's HP Envy 17t-cr100 laptop has a BIOS update available. I had similar issue last year but got lucky at some point. It appears as if the 100MB EFI partition that Windows creates is not large enough to facilitate HP BIOS updates. I have tried several methods with no success. 1) Is there a safe way to increase the size of the EFI partition? There is a 16MB MSR between it and my C: drive that prevents a direct extension. Likewise, I read that deleting that 16MB partition might result in consequences. 2) In the future, how can I tell Windows to create a larger EFI during install? Any other thoughts on how to do the BIOS update? I should've been able to do it using a created HP BIOS recovery disk and UEFI Diagnostics...but there is no option for "firmware management" anymore. Any help would be appreciated.
