Emails just stopped arriving.

For the past 2 days I had no emails come in until a couple of hours after starting up Outlook 2021 - using IMAP.

This morning 5 hours since launching it I have no emails yet around 20 came in on my phone.



I have absolutely no idea how to solve this. My ISP doesn't seem to think its there problem (Plusnet)

Have discovered 31/01/2022 Internet speed at router 41 mbps. At this PC 9. Internet is via wired ethernet.
E-Mail service can be set to delete messages from the server once they have been downloaded to a device, should check that if needing to get them on two or more devices. Probably will have to set it to not delete automatically but will have to do it manually periodically or the service will get unhappy.

First, you need to make sure you are actually having a problem,
so send yourself an email from the Plusnet account to the plusnet account.
If you do not receive anything after a few seconds, verify the settings in outlook 2021.
Below are the screens you should see, File, Account Settings, select Server Settings.
Of course, you need to use imap.plus.net, I use GMX and it is reflected on the first screenshot.
The settings for Plus.net are on the 2nd screenshot.

Are you sure the emails on your phone are not coming from a different account like GMail or others?

Just sent Rest from PN webmail and it arrived in webmail but not in Outlook.

Although I have a gmail account I very rarely use it.

Try to sign out and back in from your mail accounts once in Outlook 2021. Sometimes this can solve issues when emailproviders has been toying around with security settings or your login tokens has expired.

Without doing anything 24 emails just arrived. This is the 3rd day they have come in 2-5 hours after launching Outlook 2021.

As you are getting the Emails as shown by using the Web Mail then the problem is with Outlook.

For a start I would uninstall Outlook and re-install Outlook and add the Plusnet Account back in again, double checking the servers and security selections.

I would also check thru all the Outlook settings to make sure there is no "smart features" on, diverting Emails or whatever.

Even if you rarely use Gmail it is still worth adding that just to keep the Account live, free Accounts do expire through lack of use.

I have had Gmail delaying Emails by up to 25 hours just because of Gmail's security not liking the source. I looked at the detailed email headers to reveal that.

Can I uninstall Outlook without uninstalling Office. It took weeks of grief to get it working after reinstalling after reinstalling Windows. Plusnet weren't much help as they 'don't deal with 3rd party software'.

There may be a Repair in Apps and the program involved. I have it on Microsoft 365.
