This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable remember recent media in the Media Play app for your account in Windows 11.
The built-in Media Player app in Windows 11 is designed to make listening to and watching your multimedia content more enjoyable. At the heart of Media Player is a full-featured music library that allows you to quickly browse and play music, as well as create and manage playlists. All your content in the music and video folders on your PC will appear automatically in your library.
By default, Media Player will show all recently played media on the Home page under Recent media to make it easier to access or play again.
Starting with Media Player version 11.2409.11.0 in the Windows 11 Insider Canary and Dev channels, you can now enable or disable Remember recent media.
When enabled, Media Player will store a list of recently opened media items on the Home page.
When disabled, Media Player will clear your list of recently opened media items on the Home page.
EXAMPLE: Remember recent media enabled and disabled on Home page of Media Player app
Here's How:
1 Open the Media Player app.
2 Click/tap on Settings (gear) in the left pane. (see screenshot below)
3 Under Privacy settings, toggle Remember recent media to Enabled (on - default) or Disabled (off) for what you want.
4 You can now go back (left arrow at top left corner) from Settings or close Media Player if you like.
That's it,
Shawn Brink
