This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable the Shift Lock feature on the touch keyboard for your account in Windows 11.
Windows 11 includes a touch keyboard you can click/tap on to enter text. This can be handy if you have a PC with a touchscreen without a physical keyboard.
You can double click/tap on Shift on the touch keyboard to activate Shift Lock, and click/tap on Shift again when ready to deactivate Shift Lock.
When Shift Lock is activated on the touch keyboard, the Shift button will be highlighted with a lock emblem on it. All letters on the touch keyboard will be uppercase while Shift Lock is activated.
If you find the Shift Lock feature to be an annoyance, you can disable it on the touch keyboard.
Shift Lock is not available for the traditional keyboard layout option on the touch keyboard.

1 Do step 2 (enable) or step 3 (disable) below for what you want.
2 Enable Shift Lock on Touch Keyboard
This is the default settings.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

"EnableShiftLock"=dword:000000004 Save the REG file to your desktop.
5 Double click/tap on the downloaded REG file to merge it.
6 When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
7 You can now delete the downloaded REG file if you like.
