Photo taken some years ago on one of our off-road cycle rides (North Hampshire, England). A strategically-sited gun emplacement. It was built during WW2 when a German invasion of UK was a very real possibility. A strong construction. It looks like attempts to demolish it have failed.

That was why I got one. I've now got two mountain bikes that I don't ride anymore. I'd resolved to ride them sometimes but never have. The e-bike doesn't give a lot of exercise but very good for still getting out and about on a bike when older.

I got a taste when my son and I went up in the sierra-Nevada's a few years ago. Week trip in a RV with two electric bikes. Got up some steep climbs I would not have been able to do otherwise. Enjoyed them a lot.

Mine is 4 years old now. I've seen a few different styles I'd have chosen in preference since then but the one shown goes OK, so I'm quite happy with it. E-bikes with good specifications have come down in price a fair bit too.
