Entire Clock/Date/Icons Disappear

So, I think we have a glitch. Whenever I plug in a Flash Drive, my clock, date, and the overflow icons appear. But as soon as I eject the Flash Drive, all of that disappears.

Same thing happens when I open/close Task manager. . lol

Update: I can only make everything reappear by enabling the touch keyboard icon. When it's disabled, I lose the clock, time, and system tray completely.

Weird.

Not happening here. I have both touch keyboard and Pen disabled, but I also have the safely remove hardware icon always displayed in the notification area.

Maybe try enabling Safely remove (always displayed in notification area) , and see if it happens. if not, then try disabling (not always displayed) and see if it stays fixed.

I can't even find that setting

Yeah, I had it like that in Win10 - so it just copied it over to Win11. But it doesn't seem to be in the Win11 settings anymore.

I'll keep looking - quite possibly might be able o di ti via a batch file from the Win10 tutorial/

Found it.

System --> Settings --> Taskbar corner overflow --> enable Windows Explorer with the USB drive icon.

I found it, but that doesn't help either. Something is glitchy.

Even that doesn't work. . . There's something going on. It only works with the Touch Keyboard. . lol Everything was working fine yesterday when I went to bed. . . Wake up this morning, and crap happens.

So, enable touch KB, then enable that icon and disable touch KB and see if it still breaks....

And it probably won't hurt to grab an ISO builder from UUPDUMP and build the .ISO and do an in-place upgrade over your existing install - might be faster than trying to track down this issue, seeing as these early releases are known to be buggy.

I upgraded yesterday from the new CU. I'm on a desktop PC by the way if that helps any.

And Upgrades are not always fully successful. And particularly when using Insiders builds.

Can't think of a single time in all of the Windows 10 Insiders that absolutely no one had a problem with a new build - and it was almost never the same people, every time a different person had an issue.

I"m gonna do redo my entire computer just for something this small. . lol I can be patient. . lolol

And in-place upgrade is NOT redoing your entire computer.

@JMedlock83 - take a look at the tutorial I linked to - it's actually a lot faster, overall, than going through standard troubleshooting procedures, but if you'd rather go the traditional route, probably best to fist start with this:

See Run SFC Command in Windows 10 - same applies to Windows 11.

It can sometimes take a while, so it might be best to run it when you're going to be away from the computer for a while, or overnight even.
