I just wanted to add, in case anyone else is having this problem, how I got my 1200U working. I love my scanner, it's fantastic....
I used the Artisan630 (Windows 11) version of Epson Scan from the Epson website. I then had to manually add the driver to the scanner in Device Manager.
Not sure why it needed two steps but it now works perfectly.* It's a brilliant scanner that I've had for over 2 decades and remains both very useful and unsurpassed by newer models.
*I haven't tried the slide scanner yet. That might need some tweaking.
