Epson XP-6100 printer suddenly does not recognize any ink cartridges

Of all the peripherals a person has to deal with on a desktop computer I can understand why printers are the most hated. My wife's XP-6100 printer is about three years old, was purchased as an Epson refurbished unit, and has been working fine even with non-Epson branded ink cartridges, but suddenly it has a maintenance error message and does not recognize any ink cartridges-two of the five cartridges are Epson, and three are non-Epson brand. She doesn't recall seeing a firmware update recently. And even it there was, why would it affect all of the ink cartridges? The printer is just not reading them.
I have tried removing and reinstalling the cartridges. I have tried resetting the printer memory. So far every time it comes back to the same error message. I uninstalled the printer in Device Manager and reinstalled it, and it made no difference. I am open to any ides or suggestions.

Her computer is running Windows 11 Version 24H2.

Other than telling you to install all genuine Epson cartridges, which I have doubt would fix it, your printer probably died. All printers have several circuit boards in them that can be prone to failure, especially in inkjet printers.
Look on the control panel. Does it give an error message.

Thanks for response. Regarding the ink cartridges-two are Epson brand and three are non-Epson brand and have been working fine for awhile.
The display panel on the printer (I presume that's what you mean by control panel) says 'Maintenance error. Cannot recognize ink cartridge.' And that applies to all five cartridges.
