It could also be attributed to the fact that your EFI system partition is too small.

Also, reference this. Ignore that it is Windows 10.

What does the whole error message say, does it give a reason other than the error code?

Just my opinion (and that of many members in threads that I cannot currently find) that these types of utilities are unnecessary and can in fact cause issues.

It's driver updating software, not cleaning software.
Unfortunately for me, Acer does not provide any driver updates from their website, since the 12 months from the release from the factory. If I was to install any of the drivers listed there right now, I would make my computer slower with extra freezes, crashes and hangs, by replacing my current newer drivers with older drivers.

It could also be attributed to the fact that your EFI system partition is too small.

Also, reference this. Ignore that it is Windows 10.

What does the whole error message say, does it give a reason other than the error code?

This is all I see.

Due to certain factors and unfortunately, due to third-party software using that partition more than ever, along with new Widows 11 needs, 100/250MB isn't enough space anymore. In my opinion at least 500MB is needed.

If you provide @zbook with the logs he requested he can analyze them for you.

To find what causes an upgrade failure you have need to look at the failure logs to see the cause of your failure. Depending on where in the install the failure occurs, the log can be in multiple places.
  • If no error message occurs, the following log files are created when an upgrade fails during installation before the computer restarts for the second time. You have to look at these logs to get an idea of what's causing the failure.
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\miglog.xml
  • C:\Windows\setupapi.log

  • [Windows 10:] C:\Windows\Logs\MoSetup\BlueBox.log
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.app.log
  • C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\PreGatherPnPList.log
  • C:\Windows\panther\PostApplyPnPList.log
  • C:\Windows\memory.dmp
  • The following log files are created when an upgrade fails, and then you restore the desktop:
    C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\miglog.xml
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\panther\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\panther\setupapi\setupapi.app.log
  • C:\Windows\memory.dmp
  • The following log files are created when an upgrade fails, and the installation rollback is initiated:
    C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.log
  • C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\setupact.err
When I tried to upgrade, mine rolled back so I found my particular error in the last 2 logs.
If logfiles do not direct you to what caused the error, I advise anyone to not waste his time. Either stay where you are or bite the bullet, back up your data, and do a clean install as I did. Many folks have had no problem upgrading, but for many others 24h2 can have you chasing your tail for days.

Offhand, I would say you have HW drivers blocking the upgrade. Run "pnputil -e" and look for:
oem75.inf
oem9.inf

How do I figure out which printer driver is faulty? Multiple drivers both seem to point to the same INF Name.

Code:

Driver package provider : Microsoft
Class : Printers

How do I figure out which printer driver is faulty? Multiple drivers both seem to point to the same INF Name.

1. From the taskbar or a CMD window, run "control" to open the Control Panel.

2. Programs -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on and off

3. Uncheck:
"Microsoft Print to PDF"
"Microsoft XPS Document Writer"

4. Apply changes. Re-run the upgrade.
