So I just installed a new modem/router combo to fix a dead unit. I got it up and running and wifi in both 2.4 & 5.0 ghz are working fine. However, when I connect to the router via ethernet cable, the server is not found. The network icon shows connection and internet, but neither Firefox nor Edge can access websites. I suspect this has something to do with network security and is a windows configuration. Thoughts?

First try resetting your network adapters Reset Network Adapters in Windows 11 Tutorial

Then reset winsock. From a command prompt as administrator type netsh winsock reset then restart computer.

Disable your wifi to see if ethernet will connect. Right click on network icon in task tray. Open Network & Internet Settings. Toggle wifi off.

If neither of those helps, try the suggestions in this article. What to do when your ethernet won’t connect

I ran through some fixes. Eventually the MS troubleshooter found "DHCP not enabled for Ethernet" as an error. Having it fix that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for the responses.
