I just received my Ethernet cable today and for some reason right off the bat when i plugged one side of the cable to my router and the other to my computer i got an unidentified network and eventually it connected; but it took way too long to gain connection so just to see if it would make a difference i reinstalled windows 11 in hopes i can use my Ethernet connection without a hassle but i was proven wrong. I got to the part of the install process where you have to choose a WiFi connection and for the Ethernet part it said unidentified network and never connected. its as though the Ethernet connection has a mind of its own and when it does connect it takes a minute or 2 to gain connection but as soon as i touch the speed and duplex setting and change it to something different my ethernet connection goes back to unidentified network and doesnt connect until i change speed and duplex back to auto negotiation.

The motherboard i have is a Asus TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING (WI-FI) and im trying to use the built in lan card.
and the cable i got is the following belowScreenshot 2022-11-05 025358.png

It seems like it doesn't have to do with my isp. My router and modem are working just fine but I'm still having the same issues

Can you check with another cable? Your cable might have a faulty line that produces a lot of errors making connection difficult if not impossible. If you go at a computer service they may have a tester to check your cable. Also try another LAN port of your router. In some models port 4 is reserved for IPTV, try ports 1, 2, 3. Also for routers with a WAN port, this one is for connecting another router that provides internet connection. Make sure you use another port, not the WAN.

I did find this video on YouTube but there's not an Lan driver for windows 11 on my manufacturers website so I tried the windows 10 driver and still the same problem. So I tried with a laptop with windows 7 using the cable to the ethernet port of the laptop and it says the cable is unplugged but the cord was plugged into the router, to the laptop and in the router settings the ethernet port shows the cable plugged in but all the packet info shows 0/ what ever number

Are you using the correct port of your router? Don't use the WAN port or LAN4 which may be reserved for IPTV and has different settings from the other three ports. Have you contacted your ISP? Maybe your router is faulty and needs replacement.

Looks to be rather cheap for CAT6 cable?

Price shouldn't matter. If the cable is not faulty (use a tester to check it), a cheap cable would have lower quality shield or lower performance (not that low, it is probably faulty).

Yeah it seems to be the cable. As soon as I tried one of the round cables it seemed like it was connected instantly because I didn't even see a red x on the internet icon
