After an hour and a half of tearing apart my basement I finally found my heatsink mounting pins. I'm all set up to go but now I'm tuckered out. lol

Gave Dell touch screen with Windows 11 to daughter and got me an OTVOC. Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
The acetone was definitely NOT overkill. In fact, I had to literally soak the chip in acetone before it would loosen enough to clean. Rubbing alcohol won't work in this scenario.

I use a plastic guitar plectrum to scrape off the old when its hard like concrete :-)

the best heatsinks are used in power supplies.. which switching a/c to dc, fet's are very hot... but there is a difference between active and passive components and the heat generated... memory would be passive..
