Explorer crashes when moving files

Ever since windows 11 began installing getting pc's ready for the new OS, I still had win 10, anyways, explorer would crash but only while moving files to a backup drive... So I bought a new faster drive to back up too but still it would crash. So I figured my PC was just not up to par for win 11 so bought a new PC with windows 11 already installed on it. I bought a new PC ASUS - ROG Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7-14700F - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti - 2TB SSD ... I do a lot of embroidery digitizing and I also buy so I have a lot of files to backup. I don't move the files every day sometimes its a month later so yea it could be 50 or more to move to its own category folder.

yet I still get crashes when moving files. Just as bad and as often as before!! Its not every time though.

Sooooo what's with this what's the cause I have been moving files to folders for 15 years and never had crashes like this OS is doing!!

DOES Microsoft know about this issue? It crashes to the point Explorer closes even the internet exists but then it restarts everything except my opened drive!!

Any one else with this problem? how to fix ? Got to be others since it happens with both Windows 10 and 11 on different PC's. Any fix for this issue?

In another old computer but not so much (Phenom II X6) w/ Win7 this afternoon I've had to reboot b/c it did a kind of semi-crash I know well, it does it maybe once per month. It's hw instability, not a Win7 bug (it's possible that my Win7 has developed corruption, but it sounds me more to a "dynamic" error, like the RAM or some bus).

Months ago in my Win10 computer w/ FX8350 and powerful fans, I noticed that the processor fan (that is quite silent) accelerated while doing a Windows Recovery disk, although the processor temp was even low (this fan is regulated by the motherboard, so I thought there should be a good reason). When the processor does hard work I like to accelerate the case fan too (that's somewhat noisy) and I do it by sw with a Speed Fan profile set by me (this forms a kind of "wind tunnel" between the two fans with the fanless VRM inside it), but it wasn't accelerating for the low processor temp. I fixed this anomaly adding the processor "Core" temp to the case fan formula. The "Core" temp is an internal temp most times uninteresting but it seems to rise when the system's working hard with files, and remember the mobo was speeding up the processor temp automaticly w/o a visible processor heating.

Maybe your situation is somewhat similar to the latter. Hw stress not very noticeable b/c it doesn't rise the "big" temperatures (CPU or GPU) or the fan speeds.

If you have good cooling (remember your processor TDP is 219W, not 65) there're other sw or hw causes possible, like the USB bus or other motherboard resource malfunctioning, or sw causes like the ones you've focused first. Sometimes hw failures corrupt the files. Your SSD might be overheating. I do neither know the nature of your "backup drive" nor the size of your backups nor how much time they take.
