Hey T2T This is the same issue as your old threads. We try to help you but you tend to abandon your threads leaving us not knowing for sure what is going on. I'll try one more time but you have to work with me here.
What is the make/model of your wifi router? What is the make/model of your extender. I ask because sometimes people call a repeater an extender and they work in 2 different ways.
First Try this. Forget the old network on the iphone. Shut down then restart phone. Then reconnect to the extender’s SSID again in settings.
If that doesn't help any of the following things can cause your problem..
1. Make the extender use the SAME SSID and password as your main router, If the extender uses a different network name (SSID), the iPhone may:
- Try to stay connected to the main router.
- Experience signal overlap or instability.
- Drop connection when the extender activates.
2. It may be a band width issue. The extender may be operating on one bandwidth while your iphone may prefer a different band. (2.4 ghz vs 5 ghz)
3. You may have a DHCP or IP conflict. Cheap extenders sometimes:
- Improperly forward DHCP
- Create duplicate IP ranges
- Cause devices to lose their lease when switching between router and extender
4. iPhones are known to aggressively switch networks when signal strength changes. If the extender is weak or misconfigured, the iPhone may:
- Bounce between router and extender
- Drop connection entirely
