external hdd showing as cd drive

just noticed 1 of my external hdd is showing as a CD drive, if i click on it it asks for a disc inserting?

It seems to me that help has to come from yourself first. Nobody here can look into your system.

Please specify what external hdd it is (make and model), what usb port you connect it to (usb 2.0, 3.0, 3.1), what the drive character Windows assigns to that drive. Is that drive partitioned in one partition or more? What version of Windows 11 you're using (for example my system is Version 22H2 Build 22621.1992). And any other details you could think of that would be important to do a distance-diagnose of the problem.

Those specs at 'My Computer' should be filled in. Without them people have to guess what your system consists of.

Edit: I see in your other posts that you had trouble with an USB hub and bought/installed another hub (and the problem was solved by that). Is that external HDD connected over the hub? If yes, did you try to connect it directly?
