A business acquaintance showed me his mouthwatering Facebook business page. I know that many here (and elsewhere) have a less than favorable view on everything Facebook, but I still want to toss up the following questions.

Do you have a Facebook business page or a Facebook personal page?
What have you done to benefit from or enjoy your Facebook page?
What have you done to limit your exposure in case something goes wrong?

Facebook appears to be no longer a hangout for kids anymore. Dell has a business page on Facebook, that's the other page I saw, which is not as mouthwatering as my business acquaintance's page. That's not a surprise as I was merely a marketing target LOL

We have site Facebook pages where we post links to all new tutorials and news, it doesn't bring in much traffic, but it gets the links out there.

I do find Facebook really useful as a source of local community news by following all the local resident's groups and businesses etc., I rarely post on it though.

According to such studies, Facebook remains the king of social media and an important part of any digital marketing campaign. Companies seem to hire entire teams to preserve a fresh image on their social profiles and try to draw more eyes to their domain. So, having well-envisioned profiles on Fb, Insta, Twitter, etc. are unavoidable cogs within that kind of tactic. It goes hand-in-hand with an ongoing off-page SEO struggle, and it's all technically for free, if we don't count the time needed to craft attention-grabbing posts with links to a blog page that someone should spend time writing in the first place...

So, it's true that Fb outgrew the "kids mostly" stage, and today, I'd say is far more relevant for budding business and service providers than the other top-shelf social media pages. As the OP pointed out, having a well-designed brand Fb profile can be a head-turner and it's definitely probable that you can attract the right community that way. It's not a waste of time - that's what I'm trying to say

I am surprised by FB being so strong, I thought Google was the go to place for shopping for just about anything, from shoelaces to fridges.
