  • Added two larger thumbnail sizes to Settings
  • Added Keep Settings option to Adjust Curves and Adjust Levels
  • Add a Title option to Image Strip Builder
  • Simplified the Save dialog interface for the Scan tool
  • Enhanced handling of longer filenames and paths
  • You can now rename a file by changing only the case of its letters
  • Other improvements and bug fixes

Irfan looks softer, FastStone looks warmer, FS Pin-To-Screen looks sharper...

An official portable version is available on their website.

I haven't tried the PortableApps.com version, but it will most likely work well. You probably won't have file associations and a context menu, but it'll be good for a trial run.

  • With the "Select files manually" option in "Import Photos and Videos", you can choose to display either filename or date/time beneath the thumbnails

On my system FastStone Image Viewer (version 8.0) it does... nothing!

A search on the Internet what could be meant by clicking that menu item led me nowhere.
Seems to me it's only there because it's the default setup of a (traditional) pulldown menu.

I am using FastStone Image Viewer for many years in all kinds of versions but I never noticed that menu option and certainly never used it... :-)

It's the least useful function I saw in ages, but I will not give up FastStone Image Viewer for that reason.
Other functions are much too much practical in use!
