File Explorer - Navigation Pane - Duplicate Folders & Inconsistency

Hi All,

When I open File Explorer, I get two lists of my pinned/quick access items in the navigation pane.

If I navigate to a folder, these lists will be unchanged & the folder tree will expand to current folder below (eg in third list of items) (I am using "expand to current folder")

If I open the same folder in a new tab, it will instead expand in the top list.

The duplicate list of folders is annoying, as is the inonsistent behavior. I don't think this can be be the intention?

Thanks

When first opening File Explorer (eg Home/Quick Access):
1 - Copy.png

Navigate to Folder:
2 - Copy.png

Open Folder in New Tab:
3 - Copy.png

Hi,
I would suggest having navigation pane expand as you open sections instead
I do it at this pc user folder area instead of using home/ quick access area so yeah I unpin all those entries

Do can see all the folders, but having both This PC and "all" will duplicate". Turning on "all" and turning off This PC may give you want you want.

Hi,
Yeah create a desktop shortcut to your user folder and use cmd as admin to auto expand navigation pane
Now it will look like the image I posted
Start menu has a option to add user folder to it's list and if used will look the same when used.

Code:
rem Expand left side tree of current folder on Explorer open
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced /v NavPaneExpandToCurrentFolder /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
