I never had this problem in File Explorer in Win7. When I experienced it in Win10 (upgrade on old laptop), I thought that the alterations I had done to try to restore how File Explorer and Start Menu looked and worked in Win7. On my new PC I did none of that but File Explorer continues to perform poorly. In addition to the problem with showing incorrect images, Search is astonishingly slow and erratic. Yesterday I created a folder for an mp3 file and then could not find it. I began searching for it in sub-folders and finally in the parent folder. After finding it and using the location option to make sure I knew where it was (which, by the way, was where I created it), when I went to paste the file, the folder could not be seen or found again! But back to the Preview pane problem. While I've used tutorials to alter some features of Win11, this problem has been present before any of those changes were made. The following images progress from viewing one audiobook to the next, where the image for the first is shown until, after closing and opening FileExplorer, you can see that the correct image for the second book existed all along. And, by the way, what is the name of the area where the nearly invisible symbols for copy/cut/paste/delete are located? I want to search for tutorials that hopefully include undo/redo as in old File Explorer. Thanks
