Firefox = great browser now rubbished by too many "Extras" etc - no video playable now

I'm not renaming / moving etc etc - some longer folders too !!!!

Doing that would not even be a Y3K project but perhaps the world's ist Y4K project taking even longer than (UK people might appreciate this comment) -- to build that piddling 160 KM of railway known as HS2 with a budget a decent % of NASA's Moon budget !!

Will HS2 be cancelled, and how much has been spent so far?

The High Speed 2 rail project has been given a red rating after “unsolvable” problems with the first two phases

I downloaded and installed Pale Moon. It was great, everything was really familiar. Then after setting it up and traveling down memory lane, I tried to install my most important add-on, the old 1password add-on. Pale Moon doesn't support webextensions

I haven't tested it with some Firefox extension, but the most common, Adobe Flash, Adobe Shockwave, Java, Microsoft Silveright work on Pale Moon.

And some of my old favourites like tabmixplus worked, many worked, just not the webextensions

Regardless, it’s a good browser. I might look into its password security features and just run with it.

I have loads of absolutely unobtainable stuff particularly of loads of European classical music stuff from around 1200 - 1890, a whole series cof copies from Decca, DG, supraphon etc. Music mainly stored as .flac as who needs to play physical CD's now.

Music Library 2.4TB in 142,119 tracks 18,844 subdirectories;

One of the best ripping tools also it can get images of the CD covers is dBpoweramp - tags tracks nicely too.

Speak of hoarding (I can barely keep up with my 200 odd tracks). No way anyone could do justice even at a modest 100 a day. A clear case of listen once and chuck into the memory lanes. And that's not counting all the VHD calisthenics that you put yourself through to.

Back in topic... I have latest Firefox version (116.0) and it plays Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Ertflix (Greek National TV ERT site) and many Greek channels sites without any issue. The only disadvantage, as far as I know, it that Netflix plays in 720p. I tried unsuccessfully some addons to enable 1080p. Anyone knows any workaround, please share. Of course I am aware of the Netflix app and that I can play 1080p in Microsoft Edge. However both these produce a black screen when I try to move the window on my second monitor (TV). Only Firefox allows me to watch.

PS: I found a possible workaround. Since Netflix shows properly only on primary screen, I will try making the TV as the primary screen and see if that works. Then I will be able to watch a series on TV while working on something else on my PC monitor. I will let you know. If you have a better idea or you know how to force 1080p in Firefox, please share.

PS2: Nope, doesn't work. If you have two or more monitors both Netflix app and Microsoft Edge show a black screen. The only option is to use one monitor at a time. In my laptop I select "second screen only" (TV) to allow me watch Netflix on TV.

Odd, I too have my TV as the second screen, connected by an HDMI cable and set up to Extend to the 2nd screen. I usually use Firefox to watch all my streaming full screen on the 2nd screen, but I've just tried using Edge, streaming a YouTube video.

That works, but not very well. Edge drops a lot of frames. Streaming exactly the same video in Edge and Firefox had some telling difference in the 'Stats for Nerds'.
