The Linux KDE desktop has quite a good one which I'll bet 99% of users on this Forum have never heard of -- KONQUEROR -- it's also a good local file browser too !!!!

Number of users doesn't always reflect the quality of the project -- those old enough here can probably remember the VHS / Betamax saga or Windows vs IBM /OS2 Warp !!!

Or even the CD vs Minidisk (which was far superior but riddled with DRM and all sorts of recording restrictions by SONY).

Not before ATRAC 4 finally came out in 1996, though. And that was only IF the recording was done with the newer equipment using the higher quality settings that were making it possible to achieve higher quality with MiniDisc than with Redbook CD. I had a Sony MZ-R30, which had ATRAC 4 so, that's how I know this stuff—for the most part anyway... 😂

I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
Has anyone found Firefox 143.0.1 to be sluggish after a period of use?
Shutting it down, then re-opening it again fixes it until next time it happens.

I'm on Win 10 Pro; can't speak for 11, but:



Yes...........extremely so. Can be all but unusable on Youtube.

It's very slow to open a video that might have a fair number of comments. If I then go to Task Manager, I can watch my used RAM crawling upwards VERY SLOWLY as it struggles to load the video.

It seems to be reluctant to give up the used RAM even after closing all Firefox processes.

This is a new development within the last 2 or 3 months.

Chrome opens the very same link completely within 2 or 3 seconds.
