First BSOD On One Month Old Laptop

I bought this laptop one month ago. It has worked well.
Two days ago, it experienced its first BSOD.
It happened when I used a program that I have used daily for a few years.
I have used this program on my previous laptop, and using it never triggered any BSOD. It may well be a complete coincidence that the BSOD happened at the same time I used the program.

The program is USB Safely Remove v7.2.1, found here:

I had an external HDD connected to my laptop & when I chose to eject it through the program, the BSOD happened.

Here are the .dmp files that V2 Log Collector produced. It is the first time I have ever tried sharing anything with OneDrive. I hope I have done it correctly.

3) Reattach any drive that was attached in the prior 30 days for testing

6) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

chkdsk /b /v

Run these chkdsk switches on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk /b /v C: or chkdsk /b /v D: or chkdsk /b /v E: etc.

Make sure that the windows drive runs overnight while sleeping.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /b /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be

Type: Y

Reboot as needed.

7) After completing all chkdsk /b /v run:

8) Run HD Sentinel (all drives) > post images or share links (do not run until posting results for each steps 4, 5, 6, and 7)

9) Please make sure that all of the above steps are performed in sequence

I run Hard Disk Sentinel Professional v6.30.2 at startup. It constantly monitors all my drives. It has saved me from losing data over the years from a couple of failing drives. One internal & one external.

I respectfully decline to do all of the testing required, as it requires me to run tests on ALL drives I have attached in the past 30 days. I have 56 external HDDs, ranging from 1 TB to 5 TB. See attached photo. The majority of them are 4 & 5 TB in size. I cannot remember which HDDs I have attached when. Depending on what I download & the size, I could use any of those drives to store the file.

Apart from a different make of laptop, all the programs I ran on my previous laptop, I run on my new one.
My previous laptop is a 2020 Asus TUF Gaming A15 FA506IU, with 3 internal drives. It still goes. I never had any BSOD on the Asus.
In my mind, either the USB Safely Remove program had a temporary glitch or the BSOD was caused by my new Lenovo.

Anyhow, I will wait and see if I get any more BSOD, before committing so many days, if not weeks, it would take to run the tests on all the HDDs.

Since this laptop is only a month old, that means it's still under warranty so you should contact Lenovo tech support if you have any future incidents.

The drive SMART tests are instantaneous making them extremely attractive testing options.

SMART attempts to predict drive failure.

If SMART were to be 70% accurate then it would be 30% inaccurate.

There are multiple types of drive tests.

A drive can pass one test and fail another.

The collected log files support further drive testing if the data is critical.

The cause was third party software with a misbehaving driver dated 2008.

The event viewer reported problems that can occur with attached drives.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time or anything, but I find it very coincidental these drives start to 'fail' roughly around the same time as he started using his new laptop. I suppose it could happen, but that's why I questioned it.

@theoldfarter, I can only assume that the name of your USB handler software "USB Safely Remove" does explain its function. Namely ejecting USB connected drives. What is the reason you are not utilising the OS built in function for this purpose? A great many of the USB connected drives of which you have plenty attached, are malfunctioning according to @zbook and the logs visible above. For further analysis of your problems install WinDBG by Microsoft (free) from the Microsoft Store and look for yourself.

Well, fellas, that took a bit to read through. The two external drives, "Harddisk1" and "Harddisk2" referenced by their serial numbers, are the ones I use the most. I assume the Samsung internal SSD would show as Harddisk0. Correct?

I use one daily and the other a few times a week. I will run Seatools against them. I think that the problem is not with my new laptop, but the USB Safely Remove program I installed. The reason I use it is that often, when I try to eject the external drives using Windows own 'Safely Remove' icon, a message appears saying the drive could not be stopped, multiple times. No reason was given. I would have to turn off the laptop. A right pain in the behind!

I am a long-time Windows user, starting with Windows 95C. Back in those days & continuing through various versions of Windows, just pulling out the external drives was a big No-No. I believe things are different with Windows 11, in that I can pull out the drive after I have finished using it, as long as it is idle.

I am a bit puzzled about what is shown in my attachment, where the "Quick removal" shows as "default", where it says "Disables write caching on the device and in Windows", but under the "Write-caching policy". The "Enable write caching on the device" is ticked.

As I always wait until anything I write to or copy from an external drive has finished, what options in the Disc Device Properties/Policies/ should I have either enabled or disabled so I can pull out the drive?

I will connect all 56 drives to configure them the same. (Goodbye to 6 hours of my time. lol)

Seeing the Samsung SSD (Harddisk0?) did not show in the report, should I run something against it to check for problems or not?
If I am to run a checking program against it, which one in the list that was given should I use? The chkdsk?
If chkdsk, what commands do I include, just for the Samsung SSD?

Of the 56 external drives I have, only a maximum of two are connected to my laptop at any one time.
I have explained why I used the USB Safely Remove program in my answer to zbook a few minutes ago.
Please read it, and if you have any suggestions to offer, I would appreciate them.

In Windows "Write Caching" is on by default (greyed checkmark) only! if the default setting is off i.e. "Better Performance " is enabled.
Better performance is achieved through DMA handling disk transfers (as opposed to PIO) and hence drives need to be manually "ejected" before disconnection to ensure correct function and to avoid data corruption etc.
