Solved Font Availability Question - Windows 11 25H2

I noticed that several fonts in "Settings" are greyed out and not available for use. They are "system fonts" as they can't be uninstalled. Is this normal and the result of personalization settings or other display factors (resolution, refresh rate, etc.)? If not, can I force delete them and replace in the Windows folder to try and get them available? Thanks.

Here's an example (right side). There are many of these greyed out fonts throughout the font library. They can't be deleted (i.e. if unneeded or to reinstall). I think earlier versions of Windows 11 had an option to reset font settings. I don't see it anywhere in 25H2. Maybe these fonts aren't compatible with resolution or scaling, so they are greyed out?

Check in C:\Windows\Fonts ...maybe something can be done there?
There's a Show/Hide column...

You can right click at the end of the column headings, and add or remove column headings, as well.



I just tested on the SimSun font, in the regular fonts window in Settings > Personalization > Fonts
There should be a Show/Hide option under the three dot menu.

When I choose Hide... it greys out the font.

scroll up in the settings window and launch the control panel for fonts. are they greyed out there too?

It looks like that was it. None of my laptop fonts were "hidden" but several on my desktop are/were hidden. Thank you...I found the "show" option and is appears to have worked!
