Hi folks
you can test local WEB serving easily o a VM (even on Windows Hosts) with a LAMP stack -- Linux distro and APACHE, MySQL (now MariaDB) and PHP.
E.g follow this task list --- this is on Arch Linux but similar to other distros. Good thing about doing it on a VM is if you hose it up just delete the VM and start again. I use Arch linux here but almost any Linux distro is similar. Debian, Manjaro and Ubuntu are almost identical,
