Yeah. I know.
I don't expect anyone to have an answer for this, but i'm giving it a shot. Forums where people talked about stuff like this aren't around like they were 20 yrs ago. Yours is the best for Windows, and people don't have attitude (in my experience), so why not start here at least! :) - please advise if you know of a better forum, or any advice.

If you use FreeCommander (free. which I highly recommend), you might know that you can integrate "Total Commander (payware) Lister plugins". UvViewer is for viewing anything in the filesystem: audio, video, text, etc. It has plugins (why they call it a "Lister" plugin? I don't know). One plugin is "Syn Write", well, it's called Syn2 for the free version. So. We have that.
Now. That setup allows for config so, if you open a file that the UvViewer will open Syn2 (follow me? UV knows it's a text file, so it auto sends to the Syn2 plugin), an option is to open a 3rd plugin which is a File Explorer sort of panel. It's really cool, except Syn2 crashes, and you really can't do anything with it. I'm dreaming about old days! BUT, that explorer is nice, and works just fine. Okay. So that's Part 1.
There's a nice Text Editor, Emurasoft EmEditor that I use a lot. It's pretty much Free, but the best features are disabled after 30 days, such as the Explorer panel of course. So, now you get where i'm coming from. I have it set to use MetaPath, which is basically a little floating explorer (app here at top). Wow this is a long post for something I already have setup, but you know how it is when you're a hacker.

I guess I just wanted to know if anyone uses EmEditor, and if so, have you found any "file explorer"-- let's call it a widget-- that would work with it? That's my whole point. And this is why you don't see me often, because i realize it's painful to read my posts. I've been online since the 90's. It's dain bramage. I apologize.

Best regards.

And there's more to it on that line which can be important to post as the Builds are updates to the Version and may be newer ones that correct some problems.

I have the paid-for Total Commander on Win10 and Win11 plus a couple of older Notebooks with Free Commander, there's just a few small differences that make me like TC better. I haven't had need for plugin additions yet but may try those.
