Yup, case in point if you select a custom startup sound to replace the anemic default Windows sound SFC will flag and replace it with the default sound.

That certainly explains why I never experience corruption when I run sfc /scannow. I've never felt the need to hack or change Windows 11.

I run dism /online cleanup-image /restorehealth first, sfc /scannow second. I am on the Release Channel (RC) of Windows 11, and, I usually run the commands after Windows Update finalizes the install of an update that meets one of these descriptions. (I manually choose in Windows Update to let it download and install optional nonsecurity preview release updates each time after a new one becomes available.) I use quite a lot of tweaks, but none that involve direct modification of system files. Errors reported by the dism command are truly rare, and errors reported by sfc /scannow are uncommon (if not highly uncommon). Windows 10 was the exact opposite—after the latest LCU was installed on Windows 10 the sfc /scannow reported errors almost every single time.

In my case, DISM errors are unusual, one or two a year at most. I don't "tweak" my Windows 11 Pro, so that reduces the likelihood of DISM or SFC reporting errors.

Even on a system without customizations I would run them only when I have issues, hopefully once a year or less. Again, if it works don't fix it or you are asking for trouble, my multi year experience says.
