They’re Goannas mate

They can run up to 40 km/h. (25 m/h.)
They love running up trees, they've been known to run up a human.
They can grow to 8.2 feet long (2.5m)
Incredible creatures, we have lots on this property. Aggravate them they can take a hunk out of you.

Lol.

No not run, but move quickly toward me, like the second photo. Best to leave them alone. We see them jump out of really tall trees here onto prey. I wouldn’t want one landing on my head. They can run up a tree quite fast. I wouldn’t see an 8 foot long Goanna in my backyard, closest is about 1.2 meters.
