Game does not run with 120Hz refresh rate

Hey guys!
I have a laptop with 120Hz display. When I want to run an old game, it won't run and there is no errors or messages.
Noticed that the problem comes from the screen refresh rate. When I deactivate the intel display driver in device manager, Screen refresh rate drops to 60Hz, and it will run without any problem. every time I want to load the game, I have to disable display driver and re-enable it even I chose in Nvidia control panel to run games with my Nvidia graphics card.
is there any way to solve this problem?
I have another game with same problem, found the config.ini file and edited it with notepad and changed 60 to 120 in the .ini file and it solved it, but this specific game doesn't have such file to edit.
it's an old game as I told you, but it helps me breath better :)

FPS is locked to game speed, and capped at 90.

This may or may not help .

I have an old 2007 game on Steam which is locked at 60FPS and it still plays well on my MSI Raider 360Hz display.
Can you choose another display setting other than 120Hz?



In Steam, choose the game's thumbnail and right click on it:



Once in Properties, on the left hand side, click on Installed files and choose Verify.



Depending on how big the file is, it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
See if this does anything to alleviate your problem.

Unfortunately, the answer is "no". the only option I have is 120Hz which I cannot change with settings or device manager. I have to deactivate intel display driver and then run the game and re-activate the driver. everything is up to date. steam finds no integrity problems.
