Solved Generated .ISO from UUPDUMP fails to Mount

Newely generated .ISO using UUPDUMP fails to Mount.

This issues has only started since trying to build .ISOs for 26200.7019. What;s even more annoying is that the issue appears to occur randomly.

Does anyone have an explanation for this behaviour ?

That script will force unmount partial images when they get stuck in processing. All it does is clear the DISM mount points (in the registry), and deletes the folders so you can start over again.

It probably won't help your already corrupted(?) ISO.

Running the script file Remove_Failure_MountDir_TempDir.cmd as Admin did not resolve the issue.

I'd be concerned about this issue if it's happens on more than one occasion.
Is it only this particular ISO that it happens to? If you generate another ISO, does it happen again?


If it happens again, I'd be running memory and drive checks.

I would then get an ISO from MS and try it, and also do what @Stigg suggested.

First tried this

I usually check the 'Integrate .NET Framework . . .' check-box but didn't select for this .ISO build

The resulting .ISO fails as previously described

Then checked my device's RAM and both internal drives after disconnecting external drives - No Errors Found

Then ran UUPDump to build 26200.6901 with external drives reconnected - .ISO mounted & was ready to run!!!

So it appears to be a 'fault' in the UUPDump source(?)

UPPDump generated ISOs always failed me, I prefer MS ISOs. Note that UPPDump does not generate ISO, your PC/DISM does. Lets say that your Windows is damaged and you want to reinstall, a created ISO using a broken toolset will obviously results in a broken ISO.

Yes but the 'broken' toolset built a valid 26200.6901 .ISO

When I double click on the .ISO file, I get the reported error
When I right-click on the .ISO & select 'Mount', everything OK!!
