I am still having a problem with my screen jumping and flickering when I am on web pages etc. I thought it might be a mouse problem so I bought another one but problem still exists. I have tried all the options in Device manager (uninstalling etc) but still the same. What I am looking for is a generic universal driver for a wireless mouse. My mouse is a Chinese generic no-brand one so I can't download any driver from a manufacturer. Windows is no help as it tells me I have up to date driver installed (but clearly it is not) !!

I have also tried uninstall/reinstall graphics card driver - no help.
Also tried using a wired mouse - makes no difference

So, does anyone know where I can download a generic driver ??

I run Windows 11 v.23H2 build 22631.5742

The generic drive for USB mouse is the one Windows installs automatically. I see in your specs you have an Intel CPU, which one exactly? Google your CPU, such as Intel i3-9100. Click to open the Intel result (usually first in the list). Click on Downloads. Click the download button next to the graphics driver. For this particular example, I see Intel® 6th-10th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows listed. Save the driver and install it. Restart the computer and see if your issue is fixed.

PS: If you connect your monitor via VGA cable and the appropriate resolution is not picked automatically when installing the drivers, make sure you set it to the native resolution of your monitor at 60Hz. Most small monitors have 1280x1024 (4:3) or 1366x768 (16:9). Larger monitors might be Full HD (1920x1080). See your monitor specs.

where I can download a generic driver ?
Generic mice use the driver already in Windows 10.26100.1150. JMO, if you have issues only in your browser and not everywhere else, it would not point to a driver. You have to use process of elimination. Things to try.
Test using another browser.
Disable browser add-ons and test.
Reset your browser to default and test.
Test in a clean boot state

Don't use a usb extender, plug mouse directly into the computer, preferably in the rear on a usb 2.0 port (if it's a PC)
Disconnect the keyboard and test the mouse.

If flickering is happening everywhere, and you've tried another mouse, AND another usb port, there is something interfering with the signal of your mouse receiver. Unplug all other usb devices until you find which one it is.
I had strange mouse behavior with multiple mice and solved it by using a 3 ft usb extension cable for my mouse receiver thereby separating my mouse receiver from everything around the computer.....and I got a lot of "stuff"

Hi.

You should also check if you have the latest BIOS update for your desktop PC.

Please also check if your mouse is connected to the USB2 port specific to the mouse/keyboard connection.

Some simple USB devices, such as a mouse or a cheap Bluetooth USB dongle, have incompatibility issues when connected on a USB 3.0 port (blue plastic inside) or faster. Prefer a USB 2.0 port (black plastic inside) for them, assuming you have one on your computer. That's after you have ruled out any issue with graphics. Also if the issue is only with a specific browser, toggle hardware acceleration off or on and see if that makes any difference.

See the exact part number of your computer printed on a label. If you cannot do that, use a utility such as Speccy or Aida64. Then go at this HP support site and type the model:

Go at the BIOS (or Firmware) section and download the latest compatible firmware. Nowadays there are utilities that you run from Windows and upgrade the BIOS, no need to boot into DOS and use a floppy like in very old models. Also so BIOS have a BIOS update tool that can read the new BIOS from a USB flash drive. See instructions included with the BIOS file.

PS: I found this direct link for your model, but there are some variations, so you better search with the exact part number or serial number:
