Genie Timeline issues with .PST files

I've used Genie Timeline for many years, 2012 version was my first. Overall it's been ok in preserving my data, including Office Outlook's .PST files. I use Macrium Reflect for imaging etc.

Since going to Win 11, Microsoft 365 Office, I've found that when it gets to analysing my .PST files, 3 for each of 3 email accounts, it regularly sits there stuck part way through. The %age it gets stuck at seems to differ for the 3 .PST files. I've submitted a ticket but am wondering if anyone here uses Timeline and have any problems with it in this respect.

Have you scanned the PST files for errors?

Thank you. No I hadn't, didn't know there was a facility. Soon found ScanPST and ran it. Sure enough lots of errors. Sadly despite running it several times I can't clear all the errors.

I would "guess" that the next step is to create a new PST file and drag and drop the folders across. That likely to be a few days before I have the time.

You could setup a new PST file for now and use that to get current mail and then import from the previous PST at your leisure depending on the complexity of your present setup, that wouldn't work for me personally as i've got about 200 folders and matching rules.

I've got about 6-8 top level folders and a further 40 or 50 sub folders. I don't see any particular problems in creating a new PST file and getting it running. I would hope I can rename the current outlook.pst as something else then create a new outlook.pst to keep things clean and tidy.

Yep that's exactly what you could do, create a new pst, quit Outlook or MAIL then play name switcheroo. I backup my current PST file to my NAS frequently in case of mishaps. If i need to use an old file Outlook just brings me up to date from where i left off.
