Missing old style Mixer for sound icon on TB. Same "medicine" for W10 doesn't work,looks like they got rid of Mixer altogether.

I understand, sadly my PC does not support Windows 11 as insider release because of TPM chip.

Yes, it's different, in leaked version Reg hack worked, not on this one.

The old mixer is not the , but right click on the vol icon for me brings up the new mixer in Settings.

It's still a work in progress, thuogh - as is just about every other facet of this OS.

Am I doing something wrong, or misunderstanding the question? I just open volume mixer exactly the same way I did in Windows 10, right clicking volume icon and selecting Open volume mixer:

Install EarTrumpet from the Windows Store and you will have its mixer and Windows Classic Mixer.

Along with SoundSwitch they make Win 10/11 more bearable.

I applied reg hack to W10 to have old style Mixer just as it was in W7 and before so that looks different for me.
On W11 that didn't work.
"Old Mixer" is SndVol.exe, made a shortcut to it and placed on desktop but it wouldn't stick to Taskbar. It's not looks of it that I'm concerned about but it's immediately available while newest one in buried behind 3 clicks to get to it, by the time I get to it some sudden sound sound can wake up whole house.

The standard one is just rubbish -- seems just a basic vol control.

Even the XP one (left half of the image) is better with left/right slider balance settings and bass / treble available (probably not of relevant to anybody under about 25 as they can't hear anything higher than about 90HZ unless it's at the volume of a Road Drill!!)

Just right mouse click on your desktop short cut -- choose more options and there should be a pin to task bar option. Works for me with all sorts of other programs once sent as short cut to desktop (via open file location).

No multimedia buttons but found a way to stick to taskbar, setting for that is another 3 menus deep. Had to go zoit's options than show more and then "Stick to TB" worked.
