Getting Event id 1001 after most recent Windows 11 25H2 CU

Hi there,

Please note I’m not getting BSODs or any instability, however I wanted to troubleshoot this issue to find a root cause if possible.

I get this info error message on every logon and then periodically? Under Event Viewer / Applications.

I've tried a repair install and SFC / DISM commands - no changes...

Hey I have an answer for you - Those aren't new failures. Notice how it says files may be available in the WER\ReportQueue.

Just go there and delete them. Idk if its a windows bug or event viewer issue but sometimes when errors get logged into the reportqueue they never get delete automatically and eventviewer freaks out and reports it again on boot and every couple of hours. It's happened to me before with a nvidia driver crash.

What caused the original error during the update IDK, happened to me too, but I just deleted the report queue and eventviewer is not longer throwing those IDS for me. If the process hits an error again Event Viewer will give a fresh report.

If the V2 collected log files have BSODs (known or unknown by the computer user) then they can be troubleshooted.

Hi, where can I find this location? I’m on Win home and know sometimes I don’t have access to parts of windows.

Just delete the folders in there - you'll notice none of them are new from your recent restarts. You may need to enable hidden folders.

Also if you ever need to access any the the reports in there I recommend copying them out to a folder on the desktop instead of trying to open them in the WER folder. Window is weird with permissions and it won't let you, but it will let you copy them out to desktop and take ownership of them there.

Please do not post anything other than Windows 11 Blue/Black Screen Of Death problems in this section.



Staying out of Event Viewer will fix your problem.

No problem! It took me awhile originally to figure out what was going on when I was having the livekernel 141 issues. I thought my gpu was always throwing errors but nope, all old reports haha.
