I had a feeling after looking at the batch file that might not be compatible with W11. If it was that simple @garlin wouldn't haven't posted such a detailed reply. I trust his enormous experience after he taught me how to completely disable One Drive. Anyways thanks for posting and testing. I would do it once have created a full backup and installed VMWare correctly...hoping that there might be tutorial for W11 Pro.....Hyer-Vs to me are confusing.. :confused:

It's compatible with Win 11. It's just not complete enough to remove Get Started.
There's more surgery needed.

That requires me to reinstall Windows.
Those directions are for editing the Windows ISO image.

I would imagine it works. Just too much, unless I was doing a clean install.

So, Get Started is either a part of: WebExperienceHostApp.exe or actually IS: WebExperienceHostApp.exe
or requires: WebExperienceHostApp.exe

It appears that this Get Started app can no longer be removed. I just did some further testing - in Windows 10 it was removed but with Windows 11 it could not be removed. And none of the dedicated uninstaller tools like Revo even list it as an option.

Revo and Remove-AppxPackage can remove entire packages, since W11 Get Started is a sub-app inside the Client.CBS package -- they can't separate it out. The only way is to edit the manifest, and stop it from installing. Of course, that doesn't help a live system.

Like I said, it's not a good solution. Many W11 features appear designed to prevent casual hacking.
