Hi folks
On a new install I can't get any downloads to work from any browser --get some stupid message when I try and download anything from any web site !!!- error network problem.
100% showstopper --I'll just use prev release.
Bonkers thing is that an UPDATE from a previous release continues working but I wanted a clean / brand new install.
Finally "sussed it out" some obscure drivers were getting loaded by W11 update -- so what I did to fix it was
1) unplug internet
2) dism /Apply-Image -- using release 22000.185=4 (for some reason that release always seemed to be a decent "working release"
3) booted up (without internet) so it offered me "limited setup" i.e didn't attempt to find latest updates etc
4) from device manager went down all the devices with "unknown device" or those with ? marks against them and did "update driver" using file from a Windows 10 (Windows/system32DriverStore)
5) re-booted with Internet connected
6) update via WU -- as the drivers were already OK Windows 11 didn't try and "update" the drivers.
All working again !!
Cheers
