When I click an image on a Google Images page in Edge it no longer opens the image, just moves the page down a bit.

W11 and Edge are up to date. I have tried with all extensions disabled, cache is cleared, but makes no difference. Same problem if I try with Bing images, although both work as they should in Firefox.

Any advice would be appreciated.

As a test, open an Edge "New InPrivate window" then try again. Does everything work properly in that mode or not?

Then some add on affects how the images open. Try disabling all add ons and enable one at a time to find it.

Yes, images open in private window.
That proves that there's nothing wrong with Edge and that no external influences are causing the problem.

By default, all extensions are disabled and the InPrivate window uses fresh cookies and temporary files. The culprit is unlikely to be the last two so have another go at disabling your extensions as advised.

....................................PS: After disabling an extension don't forget to refresh the Google images page, or close then reopen Edge to confirm whether it's worked or not.

Found it. It was the Google Image Restore extension. Google must have done something to stop it working. Am now back to image opening to the right instead of full width underneath.

Thank you for all the replies.
