Hello,

Currently on NVIDIA drivers 581.57 . Recently upgraded to RTX 5070 ti. No manual overclocks or undervolts. did a clean DDU of drivers when i installed the GPU.. will leave screenshots I took of the gpu artifacting on the thread. Temps are normal around 58c while gaming. doesn't go any higher then 63c. Any suggestions would be great.. Thanks!

I do not see any artifacts.

What bits of those images do you consider "artifacts" ?

Circle them or point with an arrow or something.

If the artifacts (weird lines, blocks, flickering, etc.) appear in an actual screenshot captured by Windows, that means the problem exists in the image data before it’s sent to the monitor. That usually indicates a bad gpu or something wrong with its vram. It sometimes can be a faulty driver install, but it's usually hardware. You already covered temps so that rules that out.

If you can see the issue with your eyes or a camera, but not in a windows screenshot, then the problem happens somewhere else. Such as a bad or loose cable to the monitor or a faulty monitor.

@Helmut it's the bright lighting and purple/blue walls. not normal.

@andrew129260 I see the issue with my eyes while I was playing which made me want to take screenshots for support. I did just do a DDU clean wipe and now just got the latest drivers installed.. Do You think clearing shader cache manually could cause something like this?.. I did that recently and could only think of that as a cause.

You'll have to take photo with an external camera (your phone - if you don't have a cam). Unless they're GPU related (then, they should be revealed in screenshots as well) - caused by VRAM, a bad connection or the monitor - they won't be captured. Only you can see them. Then again, the lack of visible artifacts in screenshots - can point to possible causes (like those mentioned above).

@neves I'm confused.. They are revealed in the screenshots. I'm confused by the statement of seeing them with my eyes and then what is revealed in a screenshot.. I feel dumb here.

So.. I googled BF6 artifacting.. and I'm seeing posts on other websites with the same exact issue with BF6 and different builds/GPUs. so I'm gonna guess this is a Battlefield 6 bug?

Are you having problems in any other games? Try something similar to cyberpunk or another game that is heavy. If you have the problem in another game, then you know.

If you don't have the problem in any other game after playing a bit, it could be a battlefield 6 bug.....I would try rolling back the driver to something a bit older and see what happens.

@BrandonR

Any time you think a driver is involved, if you haven't already... disable drivers included with Windows Update.
Sometimes a driver included with WU will corrupt the driver already installed.

DDU Instructions - Nvidia
1. First, do Option #2, step #3 and onward, here...
2. This will block MS from including drivers in Windows Updates.
3. They'll still be listed in the Optional Updates, if you ever need them.

1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get the Nvidia WHQL vid card driver here... Nvidia drivers - manual search ...save this to your desktop. Unhook the internet completely.
3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install.
[See pics below]. If it want's to reboot, let it.
Rehook the internet.

Remove the GPU and reconnect it - make sure everything is properly connected (that would be the simplest and happiest solution - if that's the case). If it's still happening - you could try some stress tests - using FurMark Downloads or OCBASE/OCCT : Free, all-in-one stability, stress test, benchmark and monitoring tool for your PC

It's also possible for the game itself to be bugged - GPU stress tests - can clear that part (if you see them - while running the test too or only in BF6).

@Ghot Thank you for the instructions. I did use DDU and installed the latest NVIDIA game drivers.

@neves I'm going with that it's a bug with Battlefield 6 as it's been posted for months all over other websites such as Reddit with the similar or if not the same exact results I've shown in the screenshots. I disabled DLSS completely to rule out if that is bugged with Battlefield 6. will be downloading Cyberpunk to try it out just to be sure.

Marking this as solved for now.. Thanks everyone.

I saw that. But, the important part is to disable drivers included in WU, and THEN do DDU, etc.

@Ghot I got it to disable drivers included in Windows update. I'm always making sure I use that option as I don't like windows just doing whatever it wants. lol

@Ghot I got it to disable drivers included in Windows update. I'm always making sure I use that option as I don't like windows just doing whatever it wants. lol

As I mentioned above... WU will still put all those drivers in the Optional Updates. If you ever decide you need or want one. :-)

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
1. Purple walls (maybe they are supposed to be...):

Chromatic aberration, Vignette, should be Off.
Texture quality - vary this to see if has an effect. keep within your VRAM limit.
Texture filtering - same, vary it.
Mesh quality - same, vary it.
Terrain quality - same, vary it.

2. Overly bright lights:

There are various things that can cause this, game engine, game settings, using HDR textures on an SDR monitor, monitor calibration.
Game settings:
World brightness - vary it, lower maybe better.
Volumetric Quality - vary it, same.
Lighting quality - vary it, same.
Local light & shadow quality - vary it, same.

Most of these will require you to restart game to get the changes applied properly

3. Go back maybe 10 drivers or so, at least they will be a bit less Beta-ish. I know that goes against what the Readme installation notes say.
I'm gonna guess this is a Battlefield 6 bug?
As I mentioned in 2. It can be just the particular game engine design used, not that you can do anything about that, you maybe get an improvement with judicious twiddling as in 2.

I have found the best way to use DDU is to first disable the internet connection in device manager.
Go into safe mode and run DDU.
After back into windows and with internet still disabled install the driver.
After driver installed then enable internet.
Reason is after you run DDU WU will try to install a driver as soon as it has an internet connection even if you have group policy set not to.
This way the driver is installed and WU will not even try to obtain any other driver as it will see the latest driver is already installed.
