W11 ver 25H2 on Desktop PC (build as per PC spec)

I have a Gigabyte Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB Graphics Card - GDDR6 256-bit.
Currently have a Dell HD monitor plugged in by HDMI cable.

Just purchased an Alienware 4K 180Hz Utra HD 27” monitor which I will connect by DisplayPort
This will be the new primary monitor.
Have purchased UGREEN 80GB Display Port cable. V2.1

Can I use any combination Display Port and HDMI Sockets on the GPU, or is there a ‘preferred’ pair to use.

Is there any configuration needed on PC … or will the combination set up using plug & play.

Hello @Memnon and welcome to ElevenForum. :-)

I've never used a Radeon vid card, but my Nvidia EVGA RTX 2070 had certain port preferences.
I had to call EVGA tech support and experiment, a bit.
With my Dell monitor and the LG TV connected as shown below...
I see the entire boot process on my primary monitor (the Dell).

Of course it won't be the same on your RX 7800 XT, but I would think your card has certain port preferences as well.

For example...

Also... here is ten points, just for filling out your computer specs. :-)

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
The 7800 XT connected from the display port to the same on the monitor should work with the correct cable which should be included with the monitor. The only time I've ever had issues using both Nvidia and Radeon GPU's connecting to a monitor or TV when using one of those display port to hdmi cables. Some monitors and TV's don't like it.
