I am trying to enable DRM in Windows 11 Home Edition Version 26H2 build 26700.9711. I have set both

"Allow sites to play protected content (recommended)" to on.

"Allow identifiers for protected content (computer restart may be required)" to on.

Have also restarted, but Videos requiring DRM will still not play, eg All 4 catch up.
Is there something else I am missing .
Thank You

There are two things I would investigate.

1.

If you're using Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Enter this in the address bar:
edge://components

  1. Look for Widevine Content Decryption Module.
  2. Check whether it is listed and whether it reports that it is up to date.
  3. If an update option is available, select Check for update.
Widevine is Google's DRM technology, and Edge supports it alongside Microsoft's PlayReady. A missing or malfunctioning Widevine component can prevent protected videos from playing.

2.

There is something else worth mentioning.

Channel 4's streaming service is geographically restricted. Its full streaming library is intended for viewers in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

If you're attempting to watch from Colorado, the service may reject playback regardless of whether DRM is configured correctly.

Let's

I have two questions:

1. Which browser are you using to watch All 4?

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Brave
  • Chrome
  • Another browser
2. What happens when you attempt to play a video?

  • A message says DRM or protected content is not enabled.
  • The video loads but displays a black screen.
  • An error says the content is unavailable in your location.
  • The video simply refuses to start.
Once I know these two things, I can give you the appropriate troubleshooting steps without having you change unnecessary Windows settings.
This is what my AI buddy suggested, hope it helps.
