Solved GPU damage question

I was re-installing my Nvidia 360 Ti gpu and damaged the slot connectors and now it doesn't work. How can I troubleshoot whether the slot connectors are ok or not? I don't want to order a new GPU to test the slot and then return it. Doesn't seem right.

In what way did you damage the slot connectors?
Can you post some photos?
If the way you inserted the board has caused a short-circuit somewhere, it might have blown a part of driverelectronics.

as-in the port on the motherboard? or the power pin port on your gpu?

It would be pretty hard to get a good picture as it would need a very close picture to show the connector strips. On one side two have been damaged. Both have removed the bottom 1/4 to 1/3 of the length of the metal connector strip. On the other side one connector has the same damage. I would think it should still work as there's over half of the connector still present. It gets power from the power supply and shows a red power light. I don't know if the color is significant. There is no signal to the monitor. As for how it happened, the lock on the slot got engaged before the card waas wholly set in the slot. I couldn't get the GPU in or out of the slot for a while.

Go to a local service. The troubleshoot/diagnostic - while the possible issue is known - is among the cheapest services. The repair will cost extra - depending on what's actually wrong with it (if interested in a repair as well).

Not at every local service (like the ones - where they just run diagnostics - and replace a faulty component). You need an actual Electrician/Tehnician (some of the old school ones work rather cheap/affordable - tho, younger generations from reputable services - are rather pricey).

I can try another slot but the other slots are not optimized for the GPU as I understand it. I'll check the manual again.

Just checked. I was mistaken, all 3 of the long slots are PCI x16 slots. I'll try that tomorrow as my schedule is full today. Thanks for the suggestion.

My advice is to send it to NorthRidgeFix in LA or to Tony at northwestrepair. Both have Youtube channels.

So I made the time to try the GPU in another slot and no luck. It did not work there either. Got to assume that it is the GPU. I'll look up the repair folks that BamainArk suggests. Got to mark this solved since I know what the problem is. Thanks to the respondents. Good advise as always.
