Hard Disk Sentinel

I'm not sure how many of you use Hard Disk Sentinel, but I love this drive monitoring and analysis software.
I use it in combination with a good system image back regime. I've even been able to clone and replace impending failing drives before they completely fail because of Hard Disk Sentinel.

Do any of you use the icon sets located under the Disk Control menu? I usually use the Heavy Metal icon set.
I wish there were more good quality icon sets like Heavy Metal.

I use it & have the lifetime license. I like seeing the temp of the drives in the notification area.

Like @Bastet , I have HD Sentinel Pro on both of my computers. It is a great program. And I also monitor temps in the notification area.

I just use the default icons.

I used Sentinel several times in the last ten years to check the conditions of my drives, but honestly in 24 years of computer operations I’ve only had three failures. I also think that Macrium would be very helpful in case of sudden disaster, provided one uses it regularly…

Good on you, @callisto

Who wants failures in their life? The less, the better in my opinion.
I just think we should prepare for the unexpected.

Combined with disk imaging software (Macrium) I feel I’m covering all bases.

I agree completely with the sentiments expressed here, and I use Macrium faithfully and watch my disks (all NVMe, so they can get mighty hot) with Crystal Disk Info. I don't think it matters much what programs you use, so long as you monitor what's ging on inside that case.

I also have the three temperature icons for my three drives in my tray.
The main Hard Disk Sentinel screen offers lots of drive information and test tools.

HD Sentinel for the free version is typically Temperature monitoring and SMART.

Most users like the proprietary ratings.

There are multiple types of drive tests.

A drive may pass one test and fail another.

Using only SMART testing is convenient but is an inaccurate method to evaluate drives.

HD Sentinel in our forums has displayed scores > 90% for drives that had failed Sea Tools Long Generic test (seen most often after reported power outages)

That means that 23.3% of failed drives showed no warning from the SMART stats we record. 
Are these stats useful? 
I’ll let you decide if you’d like to have a sign of impending drive failure 76.7% of the time.

Perhaps 6.20 has been removed. I downloaded & updated it yesterday. I’ll double-check the version.
Btw mine never automatically updates & manual updates didn’t say there was an update either.

I'm not sure what happened to the website, but Hard Disk Sentinel v6.20 Build 13190 is still available at the official download links despite the website currently stating otherwise.

I think they have removed v6.2 . The download page you have referenced in the above post now shows only v6.10 as downloadable.
( Yesterday when I checked there was v6.2. Today it is gone. May be v6.2 has/had some problem)

Hard Disk Sentinel v6.20 is now back again and available for download. Downloaded and installed through Configuration > Update check.

I just got the update notice from HD Sentinel Pro this morning. It found the update itself. I did not initiate it, so I guess Version 6.20 is now ready for the big time.

True and yes. This morning when I invoked Hard Disk Sentinel on my Dell Inspiron 3280 AIO, it auto-updated to v6.20 pro..

The one I posted yesterday was on my Beelink Sei12 MiniPC where I did the update through Configuration>Update.( I hadn't set it to auto-update.)
