Hi everyone, is it possible to hide the title of folders that have been inserted in quick access? including Home and Gallery and This PC
I wanted to keep only the icons.

I also tried dragging the separator bar all the way to the left, it hides a good part of the writing but it still remains.
Is there a tool or a trick to hide the title of folders?

Thanks

For the quick access section of the navigation pane, the pinned folders can be removed by right click folder-unpin from quick access.
For others you may find your answer in these tutorials.

I don't want to remove folders from quick access.
I just want to hide the folder title and show only the icon

Brink has covered most everything that can be changed in file explorer. I'm not saying it can't be done, but I have not seen anything for showing only icon with no folder name.

Too bad, I liked the idea of showing only the icon without a title :(
If anyone knows something, please write it below.

rename them in the registry. use charmap (run that command) and 200b character. name 1 with 1 blank, the next with 2 blanks, etc

Since I'm always afraid to get my hands on the registry, without a guide I mean, I don't even enter because I don't know where to go or click.
Can you make a mini guide on how to do it? for each step? I would be really grateful.

If you don't like manually editing the registry, you can use 2 Winaero (portable) tools to accomplish this easily:

1) Download attached .zip (it is Winaero "This PC Tweaker". It is no longer available, as it was surpassed by WinaeroTweaker, but you'll need both to accomplish this without touching the registry yourself.

2) Download and setup WwinaeroTweaker as portable:

3) Launch "This PC Tweaker"

4) Select the folder you don't want to show in navigation pane and uncheck the corresponding box:
1741371009748.webp

5) Run Windows CharMap.exe (via Win+R).

6) Launch WinaeroTweaker and navigate to "Navigation Pane - Custom Items".

7) Click "Add Custom Folder" and browse to and select desired folder (this example - Downloads) *DO NOT CLICK "Add Folder" YET*

8) Bring up "Character Map" > Check "Advanced View" box > Go to Unicode: 200B > Click Select > Click Copy.
1741371292276.webp

9) Back on WinaeroTweaker > "Display As" press Ctrl+V to paste blank character.

10) Browse for "Folder Icon" and type: "%windir%\system32\imageres.dll" and press enter > browse for downloads icon there (its a green arrow pointing down in this view) (I'll put an image below showing all user folder icons inside the dll)
1741371397257.webp

11) Click Add Folder

12) Results:
1741371516900.webp

13) Rinse and Repeat for all desired folders.

**To order them as you want with this naming scheme: Ctrl+V to paste 1x blank character and pasting MORE THAN one will move that item higher in the list. Example - If you want Downloads above Desktop in the order, you would name Downloads Ctrl+V (2x - or 2 blank characters) and Desktop Ctrl+V (1x - or one blank character). The more blank characters pasted, the higher the item is listed in the view).

1741371855403.webp

**Also - To remove the default navigation pane items, such as Home, Gallery, This PC... you can use WinaeroTweaker - "Navigation Pane - Default Items"

but excuse me for a moment, I see in the guide that there are only system links like Downloads/Music/Pictures etc..

I have personal folders in quick access, folders also from my NAS
and other folders that are on the second hard disk.

I'm also interested in those

you can add any item. step 10 shows how. prior steps are to leave your user folders alone in the folder category of This PC while modifying their appearance in the navigation pane. for any custom folders, just skip to step 10.

I also tried with the Download folder to see if it worked, but it doesn't work, it always gives me the error.

Furthermore, I can't even find the folders that are on the NAS, it doesn't see the hard disks that are on the network. I'm very interested in those :(

I add the folder then with the character map I copy the empty text, then I change the icon
and it gives me the error

But as I said at the beginning, in addition to the system folders, I also need them for the folders of my NAS.
and when I click on This PC to select the folder, the Hard Disks connected to the network are not there.

If I can't add the NAS folders, I don't really need them, honestly, because I use a lot of folders in quick access. I would also need them for those folders

No F is not the NAS hard drive.
it is one of my hard drives inside the computer.

I was trying before with a folder located on a hard drive of the computer, but that doesn't work either :(

So, I understood where I was wrong, the empty text should have been put in the second line, I changed it in the first line :sneaky:

I can't delete the HOME icon in any way though :(

I also wanted to add THIS PC (always without a title) but I don't know the path to insert.

now when I open the explorer folder it opens the HOME folder, before it opened This PC and now I don't even know how to access the This PC folder anymore ahahahaha my goodness

just use winaerotweaker to set the starting point for explorer since you have it running already:

as for removing home, etc:

1741384716300.webp

then recreate them the same as you did with the other folders
